This Just In: Big Time Newspaper Says it's OK to Love Pulp Art!

Ok, let's see how long I'm allowed to let this photo stay up before some big-time lawyer demands it removed. But since this site warrants nary a single blip even on the periphery of the big radar screen of blogdom, maybe we'll manage to fly off into the sunset undetected.

Anyhow...in today's edition of the New York Times there's an interesting review of a new show at  the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators featuring Robert Lesser's pulp painting collection.  It's a nice follow-up and high society validation of  what we have known all along, namely that it really is ok to love pulp art.  Indeed, the article acknowledges how pulp art resonates with both historic and modern cultural themes.

Coming soon: The final fate of a long lost Bolles girl.

Jack, you're a big blip on my radar screen. Hmm, that sounds weird. Believe me, it's not a come on.

Damn them effete snobs in the world anyways. Pulp art is front and (slightly off) center in my library.

Well Hi Thomas,
Maybe I need to come up with more adaptable metaphors. Glad to know this site is still in your sights. I must admit tht the off-centeredness of pulp is one of the big reasons it appeals to me.
Best,
Jack

Pulp art, for me, means pure fun - and fun means living at its peak. And the best girlie artists are at the top of the fun pyramid with Bolles the crowning star!
